project 2 son! bring social change!

so... i hate bogging. its been a while since i last did this, one day longer and my password would have been lost deep in my medulla yo. Last time i blessed this blog with a post i didn't have a group, wellll UPDATE: i have a new group, and they too are cool(Noah, Tim and the Caitlyn). Together we started brain storming, brain storming so hard that umbrellas would have been necessary.

We had basket full of ideas but picked one. What we agreed upon was... wait for it... ok... a device that would control.. nooo... a device that would help students be more considerate and courteous to their fellow students in the library. Far too often when one goes to the library to study, there is always a bunch of other students being extremely loud and disruptive. i mean there is NO reason i should be hearing your discussions about "the beaver" while i'm THREE tables away studying for my upcoming sacred spaces test! none!

below are some pics...

1st proposal. Thanks to Cait for putting the PDFs together!!

2nd proposal:

TARGET BEHAVIOR: loudness in the library.
SOLUTION: embarrass to silence, kindly :)

These are sketches i did... inspired by the Brunelleschi double dome design. In our form, the interior dome will house all the electronics and the outermost dome is planned to be transparent. the transparent dome will house the L.E.D.

The main point of this "thing" is to sense the volume in the library.  if the students at one particular table are over a certain dB, a light will go off as a warning. if the noise continues, a low alarm will sound. The light will be visible by all in the library, which in turn should embarrass the loud ones causing them to lower their tones. social change!
